Papers of Richard Henry Harwood. [manuscript] 1853-ca. 1885.

The collection contains a pocket notebook of Lt. Julius B. Hall, 15th Virginia Cavalry, containing names of fellow prisoners at Johnson Island, Sandusky, Ohio, captured at Gettysburg, together with Lt. Hall's discharge. With these are a court order in the case of Frederick Settle vs.Richard H. Harwood, of Menokin, Richmond County, Va.; Harwood's will, 1866, proved 1872.; and an undated broadside memorial to Mr. and Mrs. Harwood. The collection also contains a copy of the constitution and membership lists, ca. 1885, of Menokin Lodge no. 214, Independent Order of Good Templars of the State of Virginia, a temperance society.
